The balance is an important factor in our life. You should have a balance in all aspects of life. There are many benefits to have a balance in your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and more. If you find the balance in your life, it’s like you find a big treasure.
Yoga balance poses teach us how to start dealing with the balance, how to be patient to reach your goals, how to focus on what you want. Here are six tips help you in your journey with yoga balance poses.
Calm Your Mind
The first and important tip is calm your mind, this is useful not just in your yoga practice but also to control your mind in a daily life. You have to clear your mind and make it present at this moment the mind needs to quiet down to find the balance. Don’t think what to do after your practice or what happened before, to avoid disturbing your balance. Just try to focus on your breath which is the second tip here.
Focus On Your Breath
“The process of healing begins when we mindfully breathe in.”
— Thich Nhat Hanh
Try to make your breath deep, and regular during every movement. Let both inhale and exhale come and out through your nose. Good breathing leads to balance your mind so your body gets balance too.
Focus Your Eyes On One Point
When you focusing your eyes on a single point (called a drishti), you allow your mind to block out external distractions and just focus on your pose. Find a fixed point in front of you not too far ahead, and gently focus your eyes on it. If you are a beginner, choose a point that is on the floor and focus your eyes on it. In the next level, choose a point on the same eye level, and if you want more challenge, choose a higher point.
Build The Yoga Pose From The Base
After finding the drishti, start building the pose from the foundation up. For balance poses that need to balance on one foot such as “Eagle Pose, Lord of the Dance Pose, Warrior III Pose, and more” stretch your toes and make sure that your weight is evenly distributed across all corners of the foot to make your foot work as a strong base that can hold your all body. Be sure that your weight isn’t on your heel only, and you must bend your knee a little to avoid injuring yourself.
And for poses that need to balance on your hands such as “Crane (Crow) Pose, Scale Pose, Pose Dedicated to the Sage Koundinya II” here the base of your body is hands, do the same way with your foot but, here on your hands. Stretch your fingers and make sure that your weight is spread on your palm and all the fingers evenly.
Using Yoga Props For Better Balance
